Russian Police
The Russian Police was made “police” just recently. The previous name “milicya” didn’t sound cool.
So the government thought it would be wise to rename it similar to the western style, or, in their words, pre-revolutionary times style.
Russian cops don’t do anything most of the time (see below pic). When you fall a victim to some crime, and you are one of those ordinary, non-VIP persons, noone is going to be punished.

It’s actually worse when they do something than nothing. To tell my own story, my father and mother didn’t do well with each other.
Mother called cops when unhappy with something (yes, how crazy). Once a cop came in and started swearing. My father asked him to not swear. In return, the “officer” began choking my father. I barely could stop him.
